Tips for Land Owners/Managers
- Make your posting descriptive. Include location details, shape or drawing of acreage, soil types, soil tests, past year yields, presence of drainage tiles, etc.
- In your bid requirements, include any special bid or contractual requirements. Some examples: Minimum level of farming experience, use or non-use of buildings located on property, any unusual contract language that you have in your lease agreement, expense allocations requirements.
- Review our “Types of Leases”, and consider diversifying your acreage by lease type. Perhaps, lease half your acres cash rent and the other half crop share.
