Tips for Land Owners/Managers

  1. Make your posting descriptive. Include location details, shape or drawing of acreage, soil types, soil tests, past year yields, presence of drainage tiles, etc.
  2. In your bid requirements, include any special bid or contractual requirements. Some examples: Minimum level of farming experience, use or non-use of buildings located on property, any unusual contract language that you have in your lease agreement, expense allocations requirements.
  3. Review our “Types of Leases”, and consider diversifying your acreage by lease type. Perhaps, lease half your acres cash rent and the other half crop share.
